The Provincial Council of Almeria continues to promote investment and employment in inland municipalities through the Plan for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment, PFEA, in the towns where it is managed. Three towns in the Almanzora region: Laroya, Chercos and Fines are seeing their services and infrastructures modernised and their streets embellished through this plan.
The investment of the actions that are being carried out in these three municipalities through the PFEA amounts to 300,000 euros, an investment that in addition to the benefit in terms of improving public spaces and facilities, will generate 2,700 jobs.
The deputy of the PFEA, Matilde Diaz, has visited these three villages of the Almanzora to know the status of the work and exchange views with the mayors and workers of the plan. During her visit she was accompanied by the mayors: Lola Moreno, from Laroya; José Antonio Torres, from Chercos, and Rodrigo Sánchez, from Fines.
In this sense, Matilde Díaz stressed the “transcendent role” that the PFEA plays in two of the most important objectives for the Diputación de Almería as “equal opportunities between Almeria, wherever they live, as this plan allows a continuous modernization of public infrastructure and, secondly, stands as one of our main tools in the fight against depopulation in the municipalities of the interior”.
Likewise, the deputy highlighted the “institutional collaboration that the PFEA represents with the joint work between the SEPE, town councils, the Andalusian Regional Government and the Provincial Council to promote employment and investment in our towns, especially in the smallest ones. These works are essential because they improve the welfare of all municipalities.
In Laroya, the CPR San Marcos is being improved with work on a classroom and the playground. Similarly, work is being carried out on infrastructure improvements in Estación street, where the current paving is being replaced, as well as the water supply installations with new pipes. The last action consists of the refurbishment of public spaces, irrigation ditches, gardening and painting in different areas of the municipality.
In Chercos the PFEA is allowing the reform of a rural house with different actions of carpentry and integral reforms and facilities such as sanitation, plumbing, electricity and telecommunications. The Avenida de Andalucía is also being modernised and public spaces are being refurbished with ditch cleaning, clearing, gardening and painting.
In Fines, the PFEA works are being used to adapt municipal buildings into premises for associations in the municipality with actions such as cleaning, removal of furniture, demolition, carpentry, cladding or new electricity, plumbing and telecommunications installations. Work is also being carried out on the pavement of Calle Ecuador in the Las Cruces Industrial Estate and, lastly, different environmental work is being carried out in parks and gardens, clearing, cleaning, painting and replacing drip irrigation hoses.
