Francisco Torrella and Cecile Riboleau have been proclaimed this Sunday winners of the VI Vuelta a Almería cycling race, organised by Total Sport Mediterranean, after winning the third and last stage of this stage race, which started in Albox and finished in Huércal-Overa. The Councillor for Sports in Albox, Virginia Sáez, together with the Councillor for Public Safety and Associations, Juan Javier Torrecillas, were in charge of cutting the ribbon at the start in the municipality of Albox. Francisco Torrella was the winner of the third stage, with a time of 2 hours, 30 minutes and 24 seconds, which also gave him the overall victory in the general classification. José Manuel Cayuela took second place in the stage and Jorge Martín Montenegro third.
In the women’s category, with a shorter distance, Cecile Riboleau beat Ylenia García, both in the same time of 2 hours, 20 minutes and 51 seconds, which consolidated Riboleau as the winner of the final general classification. The overall final was led by Francisco Torrella, with an overall time of 6 hours, 10 minutes and 12 seconds, followed by Aitor Escobar, 2 minutes and 30 seconds behind, and Sergio Núñez, 5 minutes and 15 seconds behind. In the women’s race, the final victory went to Cecile Riboleau , with 5 hours, 33 minutes and 58 seconds, followed by Ylenia García , 14 seconds behind, and M Nieves Cantos . The general classification for the mountains also went to Francisco Torrella, ahead of Aitor Escobar and Juan José Meca.
The flying goals were won by Vicente Azorín, ahead of Aitor Escobar and Francisco Viñambres. In the women’s category, Cecile Riboleau, Ylenia García and M Nieves Cantos were first, second and third in both categories. On points, in the men’s category, Francisco Torrella won against Aitor Escobar and José Manuel Cayuela, and in the women’s category, Cecile Riboleau won against Ylenia García and Belén García Aroca. José Ramón Borja was the best young rider, ahead of Daniel Castro and Manuel del Pino.
