‘Sabores Almería’ (Flavours of Almería) is capturing the curiosity of thousands of visitors from all over the world at one of the largest international fairs of reference for all professionals in the food, beverage and food service industry: Alimentaria. On this third day, the meat sector and the hams and sausages from Serón, Hijate, Níjar and Sorbas were of particular interest due to the quality and excellence that can be seen in each of the exhibitors on the ‘Sabores Almería’ stand.
Half of the companies from Almeria that attended the new edition of Alimentaria in Barcelona represent the excellent meat sector produced in the interior of the province. Thousands of visitors have visited the 132 square metres that make up the largest provincial stand in Hall 1. Customers from all continents have tasted the deliciousness and delicacies on display in every mouthful of all the meat products on show in Barcelona.
The Deputy for Agri-Food Promotion, who met yesterday with the general director of SIAL Paris to discuss the final details of the presence of ‘Sabores Almería’ at the fair, highlighted the important role played by the province at Alimentaria: “The president of the Provincial Council, Javier A. García, is committed to continuing to promote and consolidate the province’s gourmet brand so that it becomes a national reference. Alimentaria and SIAL Paris are two of the most important international trade fairs, which means that our companies will be in a privileged position to showcase the great products made in Almería to the world”.
In addition, the provincial deputy highlighted the quality of the meat products manufactured in the province: “Our Serón and Hijate hams are a benchmark that is demonstrated at every fair we attend and proof of this is the success they are enjoying at Alimentaria. However, both the livestock cooperative located in Sorbas and the sausages from Serón and Venta del Pobre (Níjar) which are exhibited in this fair are also highly appreciated by many clients”.
Around twenty companies from Almeria dazzle at Alimentaria
In addition to these ham, sausage and meat product companies, another eight companies are grouped together in the 132 square metres that make up the Almería province stand. These are Productos Artesanales Guada, Biosabor, Conservas Biosun Mediterranean, Miel Sierra Filabres, Aceite Ecológico Oro del Desierto, Oleo Almanzora, Casi and Seronés Artesano. In this way, the public at Alimentaria will be able to taste delicacies such as ham, sausages, meat, oil, gazpacho, fruit and vegetables, preserves, cheeses, sweets…
On the other hand, four other companies from Almeria are in Barcelona exhibiting their products. UMAI Gourmet has a stand in the Ministry of Agriculture, Lorusso is attending with the Spanish Luxury Association, Vicasol with the Andalusian Regional Government and La Unión is holding a dozen meetings and private meetings with sales representatives from various countries.
La Unión presents with Ferrán Adrià a new work on ‘Food Delivery’.
María Luisa Cruz, a member of the Almeria Regional Government, has been a direct witness to a new work developed on the new consumer channel ‘Food Delivery’ by the great Spanish chef Ferrán Adrià and representatives of AECOC and La Unión, which has taken place at the epicentre of the Fira de Barcelona.
This work has resulted in an edition of the Bullipedia that will go on sale next October 2022, which shows a tool at the service of all entrepreneurs and self-employed restaurateurs to evaluate the pros and cons of establishing the service of ‘Food Delivery’ in their restaurants. A revolutionary tool that has the Almeria seal of approval from the cooperative La Unión.
