On the afternoon of this Friday of Sorrows, the festivities continued in Cartagena, now with the traditional Parade and Floral Offering to the Virgen de la Caridad, patron saint of the city, with the participation of some 2,000 people, belonging to the 47 groups that have registered through the Department of Festivities of the City Council of Cartagena, organiser of the event.
All wearing the typical Cartagena costume and accompanied by the music of the numerous musical groups that took part in the parade, including Rondallas, Choirs and Dances, Bugle and Drum Bands and Bands of Music.
The parade was concentrated in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, starting at 5pm along the streets Mayor, Puerta de Murcia, Santa Florentina, Parque, Plaza de López Pinto, Serreta and Iglesia de la Caridad.
Once there, the bouquets and baskets of flowers were placed on the supports set up at the doors of the church as a token of the affection and fervour of the people of Cartagena for their Patron Saint, a gesture that has been carried out throughout the day.
Accompanying the parade was a large municipal representation, with the mayoress, Noelia Arroyo, the deputy mayoress, Ana Belén Castejón, and the deputy mayor, Manuel Padín, along with other councillors of the corpor.
