The territorial delegate of Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía in Almería, Vicente García Egea, has presented the II Tourist Photography Contest of the Almanzora Region, which, with the sponsorship of the regional ministry directed by Juan Marín, is part of the actions promoted to promote sustainable tourism, the diversification of the offer and to reduce seasonality in the sector. At the event held at the Pérez Siquier Centre-Museum in Olula del Río, García Egea said that the competition, which was very well received in its first edition with almost 200 participants and more than 800 entries, is a «magnificent initiative» to publicise the region and that it «stages very well» the varied offer of the municipalities located in the valley formed by the sierras of Los Filabres and Las Estancias. García Egea, who pointed out that the Regional Ministry, under the direction of Juan Marín, is sponsoring the economic prizes of the competition, said that the initiative shows the «clear commitment from the outset» to the development of the tourism sector «hand in hand with the entrepreneurs», and assured that they will continue «working along these lines, promoting the projects of the entrepreneurs». «The sponsorship of the Regional Ministry has allowed us to provide the competition with succulent and interesting prizes that we believe will encourage even more participation compared to the first edition,» he said, while highlighting «the ongoing collaboration for the last two years with Tourism, with constant visits and continued interest in our projects.
