From 25 to 28 April, visitors will be able to enjoy the five senses of Almeria’s agri-food and gastronomy with all five senses.

The Provincial Council of Almeria will dazzle at the XXXV edition of the ‘Salón de Gourmets’ thanks to the 22 companies and the best gastronomic offer of the most important high-end fair in Europe. The seal of quality from Almeria will have a 450 m2 stand in Pavilion 6 of IFEMA, Madrid, which will be presided over by a Silestone by Cosentino kitchen that will host presentations, tastings and Showcookings, including that of the Chef of the Year 2022, Cristóbal Muñoz from Almeria.

Sabores Almería’ travels with the challenge of continuing to conquer ‘Salón de Gourmets’ thanks to the quality, diversity and artisan excellence of its production, as well as the added value offered by the professionals of the hotel and catering industry in the transformation and presentation of the healthiest raw material of the European Mediterranean arc.

The Deputy for the Presidency, Fernando Giménez, accompanied by the Deputy for Agri-Food Promotion, María Luisa Cruz and the Almeria businessmen and chefs who are travelling to Madrid, explained the programme and objectives of the participation of ‘Sabores Almería’ in Salón Gourmets at an event held on the rooftop terrace of the Hotel Catedral, which forms part of the province’s gourmet brand.

The deputy of the Presidency highlighted that this is the fifth time, since the creation of ‘Sabores Almería’, that the gourmet brand has participated in this event in which it has a stellar track record: “In recent years we have been protagonists with innovative products such as the Ham Liqueur, dried octopus (awarded at the Fair) or the Oil Caviar… In 2021 we went a step further as a guest province and in 2022, the year of the internationalisation of ‘Sabores Almería’, we travelled to this Fair after the great success of our first experience in ‘Madrid Fusión’ and Alimentaria with the best chefs and products in the country. Salón Gourmets is the last international event before the big jump to the Paris International Food Fair (SIAL)”.

He also explained that the Diputación is travelling with the aim of “highlighting the health, flavour, quality, innovation and craftsmanship of Almeria’s products at all stages: From the field/sea to its preparation and subsequent production; marketing and distribution, as well as transformation with the talent and know-how of Almeria’s chefs”.

In this sense, he recalled that there will be 22 companies participating as exhibitors at the Almeria stand: Biosabor, DeSuflí, Castillo de Tabernas, Peña Cruz, Cristina Calvache, Del Barco a la Mesa, Virgin Nature, Miel Sierra de Filabres, TIDA, Carpaccio Gamba Roja Carboneras, Aceite Ecológico Oro del Desierto, Oleo Almanzora, Bodega Palomillo, Ecocítricos del Andarax, UMAI Gourmet, Conservas Almanzora, Jamones Segura Serón, Jamones Tio Emilio, Licores Naturales, Cafés Salvador, Lorusso Food and CASI.

“Our programme goes beyond the exhibition to seduce all audiences: 4 showcookings, 5 product presentations, presentations and tastings every day at our stand. We will be joined by the Chef of the Year 2022, Cristóbal Muñoz, who accompanied us at Madrid Fusión and will debut his title with us. Cristóbal works at Ambivium (Valladolid) and already has a Michelin star and a Sol Repsol”, he added, while recalling that “we travel without complexes and are proud to be from Almeria because we have the best products in the world, vegetables that feed Europe and are authentic portions of health and the chefs who best value the raw material from Almeria”.
