With this ship, Cartagena opens a historic month of May as far as cruise passengers are concerned. In total, 27 ships will arrive at the port of Cartagena with 33,500 passengers on board, including today’s triple stopover and another 7 double stopovers planned.
Arroyo stresses that in addition, eight cruise ships will visit the city for the first time. A type of tourism which, according to the mayoress, is a complement to the other tourism which fills hotels as a cultural destination and as a city of sport.
In the first four months of the year, the Port of Cartagena has received a total of 52 ships and more than 41,000 passengers, with six first ports of call, four doubles and one triple. The Mayoress of Cartagena points out that, in this way, one of the main objectives is achieved, which is to break the seasonality.
Throughout 2022, 218 stopovers and 250,000 passengers are expected.
