Puerto Lumbreras has sounded strong in Milan. The boxer Mari Carmen Romero has retained the title of European super bantamweight champion, winning on points to the local athlete Maria Cecchi.
The fight with the Italian was not very attractive, with a lot of grappling, in which Cecchi was particularly good, and the referee took away two points for hitting Mari Carmen Romero’s cheekbone with her head.
Mary “Bicho” Romero returns to give a boxing joy to the Region of Murcia. She was already super bantamweight champion in January 2020, the following year she repeated her triumph in Vall d’Hebron and now she has repeated it. She is the first Spanish boxer to hold the European champion belt for three consecutive years.
