National Police officers have arrested in Lorca two men, aged 23 and 30, as alleged perpetrators of fuel theft from several trucks and vans parked inside warehouses and business premises, according to sources of the aforementioned Corps in a statement.
After several complaints of theft of diesel, the Judicial Police Brigade of the National Police in Lorca began an investigation that culminated in the identification of the alleged perpetrators of the thefts, who were linked to at least six criminal acts, five robberies with force and theft.
The modus operandi used to perpetrate the robberies was always the same. Specifically, they would look for a business premises where there were lorries or vans parked. They took advantage of the night to break in by force or by jumping over the perimeter fences to force the caps on the diesel tanks and steal the fuel.
THEY ALSO STOLE BATTERIES FROM THE VEHICLES
During the investigation, they were not only linked to the theft of fuel, but also to the theft of several vehicle batteries.
The detainees, aged 23 and 30, of Ecuadorian nationality, were brought before the courts for their alleged involvement in five offences of robbery with force and one of theft.
