Over the next few days, workshops will be held to promote healthy lifestyle habits and routes to encourage physical exercise.

Northern Health Management Area of Almeria has organised thirty activities for the 13th Week for the Promotion of Healthy Habits in health centres and at the La Inmaculada Hospital, with the aim of disseminating among the population the benefits of a balanced diet and regular moderate physical activity, and to combat smoking.

Today, on the occasion of World Nutrition Day, which is celebrated on 28 May, there was a walk along the Mojácar beach, a workshop to promote physical exercise for people with chronic illnesses at the Macael Health Centre, which will continue on Wednesday and Thursday and Friday, and a healthy breakfast in the Parque de las Familias in the Almanzora municipality. La Inmaculada has hosted the ‘II Festival Verde Fruttimaní’ and Vélez Rubio the hiking route ‘Los Molinos del Agua’.

On Wednesday there will be a workshop on healthy lifestyle habits for health workers and a breakfast at the Olula del Río Health Centre; a conference to promote healthy lifestyles and a hiking route between Sierro and Pulpí; a Taichi and Chikun workshop at Mojácar Town Hall; breastfeeding and babywearing at La Inmaculada Hospital, where there will also be a Yoga workshop for pregnant women and a route to the ‘Torre El Pirulico’ at Playa Macenas. On Thursday, departing from the Pulpí Health Centre, there will be ‘Paseomicinate’, from the sports pavilion in Huércal-Overa hiking ‘Vía Verde’; a yoga workshop in the central courtyard of the Hospital and the workshop ‘Myths of Tobacco in the Juvenile Protection Centre ‘Valle del Almanzora de Purchena.

On Friday, the ‘Hatta Yoga’ workshops for workers and those accompanying users and on action and prevention of aggression against health professionals will take place at La Inmaculada. On Saturday and Sunday there will be a cycling and hiking route for professionals and family members of the Northern Area; On Monday the ‘Shopping Basket’ workshop in FAISEM Huércal-Overa, and on Tuesday 31st, World No Tobacco Day, an ‘Embici’ route with the Clinical Management Unit (UGC) Mental Health from La Inmaculada Hospital, the ‘Tobacco Myths’ workshop in the Santa María de Nieva Reception Centre for Immigrant Minors, as well as an exhibition ‘A reflection on smoking in the hall of La Inmaculada.
