Queen Letizia will visit Cartagena on Monday 6 June to hand over the battle flag to the Special Naval Warfare Force of the Marines. It will be a public ceremony which will almost certainly be held in the port, near the cruise ship docking bay.
Doña Letizia will come, on this occasion, without the King. The last time she was in Cartagena was for the launching of the S-81 in April last year. The Special Naval Warfare Force does not have a combat flag because it is a relatively new unit, created in 2009.
The Queen will be in charge of presenting this symbolic garment to this infantry group in an official ceremony to be held on Monday 6 June.
