The Provincial Monitoring Commission of the Programme for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment (PFEA) has agreed today on the allocation of funds for this programme to Almeria with an increase of 4.4% compared to 2021. This is a programme in which the central government participates, with the financing of the labour, and the Junta de Andalucía and the Diputaciones, which pay for the materials at 75% and 25% respectively, which in the province means a cost of 3,494,397 euros for the regional administration in the new call.
Thus, for the PFEA 2022 the State will allocate 10.3 million to the projects presented by the municipalities of Almeria, the regional administration almost 3.5 million and the Provincial Council 1.1 million.
The territorial delegate of Local Administration in Almeria, José Luis Delgado, stressed that «the PFEA is an example of collaboration between administrations and a very useful tool to help municipalities to improve municipal infrastructure, generate employment and thus fix the population to the territory, especially in the inland municipalities of the province».
In the 2021 call, whose works will be executed until September 2022, it is expected that around 5,000 temporary jobs will be created to supplement the daily wages in the countryside.
In addition to generating employment in rural areas, the PFEA allows local councils to undertake actions to improve public facilities and infrastructure such as urban roads, basic supply networks, municipal buildings such as schools, health centres, libraries, day-care centres, sports facilities, business incubators, etc…
