Agents of the National Police have proceeded to the arrest of four men for allegedly belonging to a criminal group dedicated to the sale of cocaine in the municipality of Águilas (Murcia), according to sources from the aforementioned Corps in a statement.
The four individuals, all of Spanish nationality and aged between 35 and 59 years old, have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of a crime of drug trafficking, membership of a criminal group and illegal possession of weapons.
The investigation began in November 2021 and was carried out in collaboration with the Local Police of Águilas. When they were carrying out their crime prevention work, they detected the presence in the town of an individual who was allegedly engaged in the sale of cocaine.
Agents of the National Police, after learning of this, began the first investigations and were able to verify that this individual could be the leader of an organised group selling drugs.
HE DISTRIBUTED THE DRUGS FROM 4 DIFFERENT ADDRESSES.
The person under investigation was allegedly in charge of directing the distribution and sale of cocaine from four homes located in Águilas, whose modus operandi was to meet with consumers at a meeting point by telephone.
Subsequently, the suspects would travel to deliver the drugs, exchanging money for narcotics in the middle of the street.
As a result of the investigation carried out in recent months, the National Police have arrested four individuals, carried out four house searches and searched a warehouse. Two firearms were seized, a pistol and a revolver, the latter in perfect working order and with its ammunition.
In addition, the agents have seized approximately 22,000 euros; around 130 grams of cocaine that was already prepared for sale; 80 individual doses; around 100 grams of hashish; and eight precision scales.
They have also found other narcotic substances such as crystal meth, marijuana and grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms; at the same time they have seized two cars (one of them top of the range) and two motorbikes with which they distributed the drugs throughout the city, both acquired with money from drug trafficking.
The National Police have also proceeded to block the bank accounts and financial products of the main suspect and leader of the criminal group.
This is an investigation and intervention carried out jointly by the Local Police of Águilas and agents of the National Police of the Lorca Police Station, belonging to the Superior Police Headquarters of the Region of Murcia.
