The Plan for the Promotion of Agrarian Employment (PFEA) managed by the Provincial Council of Almeria is facing its final stretch of the 2022 and 2023. The deputy of the Plan for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment, PFEA, Matilde Díaz, accompanied by the mayors and councillors of Zurgena and Vélez-Blanco has visited the works being carried out both in the streets and schools of Zurgena, as well as in the urban infrastructure of the municipality of Velez and the furthest neighbourhood from the capital: Topares.
The deputy has seen first hand the evolution and the result of the works that are transforming these municipalities while boosting the labour market: “In total these municipalities have received more than 430,000 € of investment for the improvement of streets, public spaces and infrastructures that benefit all their residents”.
In this sense, he stressed that with the PFEA “we create employment, improve services and infrastructure and beautify the municipalities, especially those in the interior of the province thanks to institutional collaboration. We have a useful and effective tool to continue promoting and improving the quality of life of all the people of Almeria, from the youngest with actions in public schools to the oldest with improvements in parks and gardens.
In the municipality of Vélez-Blanco, together with the deputy mayor, Ana María López, and other councillors, he visited the actions of the General Scheme:
Pavements and Infrastructures in Calle San Isidro de la Barriada de Topares, where 298 m2 of paving has been replaced with another single platform type pavement with concrete paving slab with cobblestones. In addition, work has been carried out on the drainage, water supply and telephone, electricity and street lighting pre-installations.
Paving of Calle Tercia: The work undertaken in PFEA 2020 has been completed.
Placeta Calle San Marcial: The infrastructures and paving of a small square in the centre of Vélez-Blanco have been renovated without pavements on a single cobblestone platform.
In addition, this municipality has also developed the project for the improvement of public spaces with gardening, painting and maintenance of parks and gardens.
Zurgena has benefited from three projects totalling almost 250,000 euros between actions in streets, schools and parks. In terms of schools, improvements have been made in La Alfoquía school (replacing the woodwork on five windows) and Zurgena school, where stains and damage to the plinth due to damp have been removed.
In addition, paving and infrastructure work has been carried out in different streets in the municipality:
Calle Cruces: Complete remodelling.
Calle Calvario: Replacement of paving with a single platform, as well as supply, drainage and street lighting installations.
The PFEA in 2022
The PFEA is investing 14.8 million euros in 2022 in 238 projects that are improving the quality of life, opportunities and public services in 88 municipalities (including the ELA of Fuente Victoria).
The PFEA is an example of the institutional collaboration between the Provincial Council, the Regional Government of Andalusia and the SEPE.
