The Andalusian Youth Institute (IAJ), a body under the Ministry of Employment, Training and Self-Employment, has collaborated with the Olula del Río Town Council in the days that have been developed on the occasion of the exhibition of mural painting in El Cañico, a project carried out by the young local artist Eva Herrero, along with 30 young people from this town in the Comarca del Almanzora.
The IAJ programme advisor in Almería, Rosa Maldonado, and the councillor for Youth in Olula del Río, Miguel Torregrosa, attended the closing ceremony of this activity, where «the great mural created during these days by the young people of Olula del Río» was unveiled.
Maldonado has assured that «from the IAJ we have come to this municipality to put in value the exhibition of mural paintings in El Cañico of the hand of the local artist Eva Herrero». As she explained, «these days have had a high participation where it has been possible to capture the cultural and artistic heritage that exists in this region of Almería». To conclude, the IAJ advisor in Almería stressed «the importance of developing initiatives that promote and support the creation of our young people».

On the other hand, the Councillor for Youth of the Olula del Río Town Council stated that «during these days the culture of graffiti and murals has been put into practice through the work of our young people, led by the work of the artist Eva Herrero». Miguel Torregrosa referred to the workshop «where the richness of graffiti culture has been made known thanks to the work carried out by the young people of this town». Finally, he mentioned the double objective achieved by this workshop «on the one hand to help the development and creation of young people and on the other hand, to make our artists known».
