Kamikaze driver arrested after causing 2 accidents on the A-30 and fleeing on his way from Cartagena to Murcia

GUardia civil Huercal-overaThe Guardia Civil arrested a kamikaze driver early this morning after causing two accidents on the A-30, one of them with a motorcyclist injured, and fleeing after travelling at high speed for several kilometres between Cartagena and Murcia.

The events occurred at 00.40 hours last night, when the Single Emergency Telephone ‘1-1-2’ began to receive a large number of calls alerting them to the presence of a driver who was driving from Cartagena to Murcia at high speed in the wrong direction.

On his route he caused two accidents, in the first one two vehicles collided with no injuries but, in the second one, the kamikaze driver collided with a motorbike at kilometre 169 leaving a man injured on the road with multiple traumatisms.

The driver of the motorbike had to be treated ‘in situ’ by a Medical Emergency Unit of the Gerencia de Emergencias y Urgencias Sanitarias ‘1-1-2’ and later transferred to the Hospital General Universitario Los Arcos del Mar Menor. Finally, the Guardia Civil arrested the kamikaze driver.
