The former director of Imserso takes over after the resignation of Juan Antonio Lorenzo.

Manuel Martínez Domene has been elected as the new Mayor of Serón. The former director of Imserso and vice-minister of Equality and Social Policies, who ran in the municipal elections as the second substitute on the lists for the municipal elections in 2019, will continue to lead the municipality for the remainder of the term of office.

The new councillor, who has family ties with the outgoing mayor, has promised his position as mayor after becoming a councillor of the Seronian town council.

To make this possible, up to five candidates in order of succession have had to make way for Domene, who has promised to “take advantage of the challenges and opportunities that our town has ahead; a new political time marked by the presence of a new mayor, a task that I assume with honour and with an enormous responsibility to lead the public affairs of Serón, with ethical demands, with transparency, with rigour, with honesty, with humility and sensitive to the needs of the citizens”.
