The Moorish Games return to the municipality of Purchena after four years. A meeting that after the pandemic, will try to make the visitor travel back in time to relive what has been considered the missing link in the Olympic chain.
We will witness unique sporting competitions such as the Burxana stone lifting and brick holding; the Moorish-style horse races or the musical nights of the Games in which flamenco merges with Arab rhythms come to life again in the Plaza de Purchena.
Those who attend will be able to learn about events of Olympic origin such as the sprint races, triple jump or shot put; or be surprised by the traditional slingshot and stone throwing events. A stroll through a unique handicraft souk or tasting traditional recipes in the gastronomic field.
A unique historical event declared of Tourist Interest is waiting for you in the historic Moorish town of Burxana.
The Moorish Games of Abén Humeya will take place in the town of Purchena from 28 to 30 July.
