An 18-year-old boy died early last Tuesday morning, and two others were slightly injured, after a guard post on the beach of El Mojón in San Pedro de Pinatar gave way, according to sources from the Emergency Coordination Centre.
The incident occurred about minutes before two in the morning, when a call to the single emergency telephone ‘1-1-2’ reported that an 18-year-old boy was seriously injured on the beach of El Mojón, in the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar.
Apparently a group of boys were on the beach lookout post and the structure gave way, hitting a boy in the head in his fall.
Civil Protection, Local Police of San Pedro del Pinatar and Guardia Civil were deployed to the scene. In addition, the Emergency and Health Emergency Management ‘061’ sent two ambulances, one of them a Medical Emergency Unit (UME), whose staff could only certify the death of a boy and transferred to the General University Hospital Los Arcos del Mar Menor two other slightly affected, a boy and a girl both aged 18 years.
