The spokesman for the Zurgena Popular Party, Domingo Trabalón, has regretted that, after months since the calima, one of the main monuments of the municipality is in such a deplorable state: The Clock.
In this regard, Trabalón said that the clock is «totally abandoned»; «it is not that the machinery stopped working years ago, but since the arrival of the calima it has lost its white colour and is completely dirty», he explained.
Trabalón said that many residents have told him of the need to enhance the value of this monument; «We are grateful to the residents who call us every day to tell us about their concerns and problems, and this is one of them».

The PP spokesman has registered a letter, echoing the request of many neighbours, urging the local government team, to submit this monument to a thorough cleaning and if necessary to paint it. «We have to take advantage of the enhancement of our monuments to be a tourist attraction. Zurgena does not have a beach but it has monuments, gastronomy and nature that can make it a tourist attraction.
Finally, Trabalón hoped that «in time for the San Ramón festivities at the end of August, one of the great emblems of our municipality can be cleaned up and ready for the fiestas of San Ramón».
