This morning, the Mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo and the Mayoress of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, raised the Blue Flag on the beach of Banco del Tabal-Calnegre, shared by both municipalities in La Manga del Mar Menor. This beach has 2 km of continuity between San Javier and Cartagena.
This new quality certification accredits the quality of the bathing water, compliance with environmental regulations and the safety of users. The mayor of San Javier, José Miguel Luengo, expressed his satisfaction with this new recognition, as they had been planning for some time to bring to La Manga the coordination that the local residents have always asked for: «For us it is another example that when there is will and coordination, things can be achieved that make a destination better».
On the other hand, the Mayoress of Cartagena explained: «This is one of the first results of the coordination and our government programme where we wanted to work for excellence in the quality of the services we provide in La Manga».

With this new recognition, San Javier already has 3 blue flags flying on the beaches of El Pedrucho and Ensenada del Esparto, all of them in La Manga del Mar Menor.
