The PP encourages people to donate blood in the centres of Olula, Purchena, Tíjola and Zurgena.

Juan de la Cruz Belmonte is grateful for the solidarity of the people of Almeria and asks them to come to the fixed points in the cities as well as to the different mobile units.

The secretary for Health of the PP in Almeria, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte, has encouraged the people of Almeria to continue to show solidarity and donate blood at the fixed points in the cities as well as in the mobile units that are travelling throughout the province in order to reinforce the transfusion centres throughout the holiday period, especially on days when there are more journeys, such as the long weekend in August.

Belmonte recalls that the Andalusian Government has launched a summer blood donation campaign with the aim of making the population aware of the need for blood components in our hospitals, which are still at full capacity during the summer season and where there may also be situations that require more transfusions, hence the appeal that the PP of Almeria makes to the people of Almeria to contribute in solidarity with our health.

In this sense, he points out that the next blood collections are scheduled for 16th August in Instinción and Rioja; 17th August in Cabo de Gata; 18th and 19th August in La Puebla de Vícar; 22nd August in Purchena; 23rd August in Los Gallardos; 24th August in Las Negras and Zurgena; 25th August in Huércal de Almería; 26th August in Laujar de Andarax; 29th and 30th August in Tíjola and 31st August in Olula del Río.

The PP Secretary of Health emphasizes that Almeria has always been known for being a particularly supportive land that has contributed at all times to maintain blood reserves at adequate levels and appreciates the work that health personnel are doing to ensure that our Blood Transfusion Centres are working at 100% at this time when, despite the holidays, many patients continue to require treatment in hospitals.

Finally, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte also encourages those people from Almeria who are not yet blood donors to join this register as long as they meet the requirements imposed by the Andalusian Health Service, which include being between 18 and 65 years of age, weighing more than 50 kilos, not suffering from chronic illnesses or water infections, not being anaemic and not engaging in risky practices that facilitate the spread of diseases such as hepatitis, syphilis or AIDS.
