In a recent investigation carried out by personnel of the Guardia Civil of Almería, several robberies committed in the municipalities of Olula de Río and Macael were clarified and two men, residents of Olula del Río, were arrested as perpetrators.
This action is part of the ongoing work of the Guardia Civil in the province of Almeria for the resolution and prevention of crimes against property.
The Guardia Civil of Almeria initiated the investigation after learning that in the municipalities of Olula del Rio and Macael, several robberies were taking place in farm implements sheds.
The Guardia Civil personnel in charge of the investigation carried out visual inspections of the places where the robberies were taking place and determined that the modus operandi used by the perpetrators coincided in all of them. During the inspection of one of the places, the agents located a rucksack (lost by the perpetrators during their escape after being surprised by a witness) which, among other tools, contained the keys to a house and those of a moped, which were decisive for the identification of the perpetrators.
The arduous investigation allows the agents to locate and locate a motorbike at the scene of the crime, to which the keys located belong, which leads to the full identification of its owner. The agents also identified the second perpetrator, who had changed the lock cylinder of his house the same day he lost his keys, during one of the robberies.
The agents recovered various farming equipment such as pruning shears, a brush cutter and numerous tools, stolen by the perpetrators in the robberies.
As a result of this investigation, the Guardia Civil of Almeria clarified several robberies committed in farm tools sheds in the municipalities of Olula del Rio and Macael and arrested two men aged 24 and 33, residents of Olula del Rio as the perpetrators.
The proceedings, together with the detainees, were handed over to the 1st Court of First Instance in Purchena, which ordered them to be sent to prison.
