A worker, whose identity has not been revealed, died on Thursday after falling from a height while working on an air conditioning machine in Almería, according to Emergencias 112 Andalucía, a service attached to the Regional Ministry of the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification of the Junta de Andalucía.
The accident occurred at 15:00 hours in a block of flats in Doctor Barraquer street in the Nueva Andalucía neighbourhood. The victim fell from a fifth floor into an interior courtyard, according to witnesses who alerted the coordination centre.
The incident involved personnel from the Local Police, the National Police, the Labour Inspectorate and the 061 Health Emergency Centre, which belongs to the Andalusian Health Service. According to National Police sources, the worker died at the scene.
