
The municipality of Purchena has kicked off its patron saint festivities in honour of San Ginés de la Jara, which will take place from 25 to 28 August.
The opening speech was given by the local Paralympic athlete, Antonio Francisco García Rubio, who aspires to represent our country in the Paralympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024.
For today, Friday, the 7-a-side Football Tournament, a tribute to Ramón Torregrosa «El Polvorilla», is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. at the Antiguo Campo de Fútbol.

At 9 p.m. in the Plaza Manolo el Municipal (Plaza de la Biblioteca), a concert is scheduled by the Asociación Agrupación Musical San Ginés de Purchena with the premiere of the pasodoble entitled «Purchena», by the composer Enrique Jiménez Galera.
From 11 p.m. onwards, the night will begin in the Plaza del Pueblo, accompanied by the Grupo Sureste and the Orquesta Máxims.
