The Guardia Civil has arrested an experienced criminal as the alleged perpetrator of five crimes of robbery with force committed in the last fortnight of last July in a construction materials company in Torre Pacheco (Murcia), as reported by sources of the Armed Institute in a statement.
The operation, called ‘Karve’, began when the Benemérita became aware of a robbery in the warehouse of a construction materials company, from which several bottles of fuel, cans of paint and other products, as well as cash, had been stolen.
The Guardia Civil carried out a visual inspection of the establishment and ascertained that the robbery had been committed in the early hours of the morning, by scaling the perimeter wall of the premises, by a single individual wearing a cap, which prevented him from being identified.

INDISCRIMINATE THEFT OF ALL KINDS OF OBJECTS
After this first incident, and during the last fortnight of July, the same company was the target of four more robberies, which targeted the same type of products and materials, including the bicycle of one of the company’s employees.
The thief even stole one of the company’s wheelbarrows, which he used to accumulate as many objects as possible, in order to move them to the perimeter wall, where he took them outside.
The images provided by the video surveillance cameras made it possible to link the first suspect to the succession of robberies, so the investigators focused their efforts on identifying him until they discovered that he was an experienced criminal from the municipality.
The extensive criminal background of this offender meant that he kept himself hidden, habitually changing his address, which made it difficult to locate and arrest him.
Recently, a patrol of the Benemérita located him outside one of the houses he frequented. Far from being proactive, the suspect began to flee on the run, although he was caught by the agents, with whom he struggled violently to avoid arrest.
Operation ‘Karve’ has culminated in the arrest of a 29-year-old man of Spanish nationality, with a lengthy criminal record, as the alleged perpetrator of five robbery offences committed in the same company in the municipality.
The detainee and the proceedings have been placed at the disposal of the court of San Javier.
