The Ministry for Ecological Transition has awarded the company Typsa the project for the removal of the metal structures of Puerto Mayor, in order to achieve the environmental recovery of the area and restore the large sandbanks of this area of La Manga.
In June, the Ministry announced the public tender for the drafting of the project for the removal of the sheet piling and the remains of the work on what was to be the largest marina in the Mediterranean. How to renaturalise a beach occupied for more than twenty years by a failed project is the question which the company in charge of drawing up the project for the removal of any installation of the frustrated project and the repair of the space it occupies in the municipality of San Javier will have to answer. Specifically, the Estacio Cove must be recovered.
The contractor has six months and a budget of more than 100,000 euros to draw up the project for the removal of the installations and also the environmental recovery of a unique space in the northern area of La Manga. The Asociación de Naturalistas del Sureste is developing in La Manga, in collaboration with the Ministry, a pilot initiative for the removal of invasive species and restoration with autochthonous flora which they hope will be taken into account in this project.
