The second Plenary convened in an extraordinary way this Thursday in the City Council of Macael at 17.30 hours, contemplated in the agenda the resignation of Guillermo Casquet Fernández to the position of councilor of the municipality.
An emotional plenary, where there was no lack of tears and in which both political groups recognized the work of Casquet, who holds the mark of being the councilman who has served longer as a councilman in the town. Fifteen years, first in the opposition and then as spokesman for the government team for three legislatures, have made Casquet “a man of the house.”
“A bittersweet day” defined the now former councilman this Thursday in his farewell. A farewell that is not such, according to his interpretation, “since I will continue to work for the benefit of my people wherever I am.” “It’s just a period”.
Good worker, good councilor and has done good things for Macael, said in the plenary José Francisco Tapia, PSOE spokesman in opposition.
Also the mayor Raul Martinez visibly moved, said he was in politics “because of Guillermo” with whom we faced challenges, problems and the many needs that our people presented.
Together they have reached the twilight of this third term, but the appointment of Casquet as delegate of the Junta de Andalucía, today separates their paths, at least formally.
Casquet has recognized the work of all councilors who even in dissent, have made the plenary sessions are constructive and for the benefit of all Macaeleros, and therefore made a public thanks to all councilors with whom he has shared the municipal political life.
As a final message, Guillermo Casquet highlighted the pride and wisdom of the neighbors to whom he asked and asked that far from political parties continue voting thinking about what is best for Macael.
