The festival of Flamenco and Copla organized by the Flamenco and Copla El Arte Association of San Javier, with the collaboration of the departments of Culture and Festivals, this year changes its location, from San Javier to El Mirador, where it will celebrate its fifth edition, within the program of festivities of the town.
The president of the organising association, Diego Torres, accompanied by councillors David Martínez, Isidoro Miñano and Isabel Madrid, who is also mayoress of El Mirador, presented today at the Town Hall, the Festival to be held on 11 October at 21:30h in the civic centre of El Mirador, with Antonio Ortega on flamenco singing, accompanied on guitar by Marcos Serrato, and Verónica Lozano in the copla section.
The line-up includes the Nadia Márquez Flamenco School ballet and a young local flamenco guitarist, Valentín, who entertained the audience at the presentation in the Town Hall, which was attended by a large representation of the organising association that keeps the taste for flamenco and copla alive in the municipality.
Diego Torres expressed his gratitude to the San Javier Town Hall for its collaboration with the flamenco gala “in which every year we try to improve”. The mayoress of El Mirador, Isabel Madrid, said she was delighted to host the Festival in the town, which starts its patron saint festivities next week, and expressed her intention to work to ensure that it continues to grow in El Mirador as a fixed venue.
