Francisco González Bellido, resigned in the last plenary session held in the Olula del Río Town Hall to his position as councillor, to exercise his new responsibility as delegate of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality.
In this way, Bellido ceases to be councillor for Sports, Communication and Tourism and Promotion of the municipality of Olula del Río; an emotional farewell where from both benches wished him “luck and success” at the head of a delegation of the government of Juanma Moreno.
“Today is a happy and sad day,” said the new delegate in the municipal plenary. “Happy because I am taking on a responsibility in an area where I can help those who need it most, and sad because for me it is the greatest honour to represent the residents of my town as a councillor”.
Belli, as he is known in his locality, said goodbye with words of thanks to his colleagues, the opposition and the staff who work in the Town Hall. Visibly moved, he thanked them all “for having taught me so much”. He made special mention of Mayor Antonio Martínez Pascual, from whom “every day I have received a lesson in how a Town Hall works”.
“Above all I thank my family, who support me unconditionally, who give me everything without asking for anything in return.
“I apologise for any mistakes I may have made. Olula is my home, my refuge, where everything begins and ends,” he said, who is already carrying out tasks that bring him closer to very vulnerable groups.
