Coast of Almeria returns to France's most important tourism event
Almeria Provincial Council has brought to the IFM Top Resa, the excellences of one of the favourite tourist destinations for the French.

Almeria Provincial Council, through the Provincial Tourism Service, has once again taken the excellence of the tourist destination ‘Costa de Almeria’ to the French capital. The IFTM Top Resa, has returned with a new format and several new features after two years of absence due to the pandemic and has done so with a large influx of trade visitors from around the world.

The 43rd edition of this international fair has increased the number of days from three to four so that tourism professionals could get to know the wide and varied offer of more than 200 destinations. The destination ‘Costa de Almería’, has been present at the fair that has been held this week, along with the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, which has also offered other Andalusian destinations.

The deputy of Tourism, Fernando Giménez, stressed that “Almeria shines in the best tourism and gastronomic fairs in the world. Being present at these events gives us added value so that we can continue to reap good results in tourism figures. Here we have worked in a specific sector that already chooses Almeria as one of their favourite destinations but that will help us to continue consolidating ‘Costa de Almeria’ among the choice of thousands of French people”.

Giménez also stressed that Almeria “is beach, mountains, desert, inland beauty, nature and endless resources that make us stand out from other destinations. In Almeria we have everything necessary for any tourist to come and enjoy their holidays at any time of the year. Our mission is to promote Almeria and our presence in Paris strengthens all of us from Almeria”.

According to the Hotel Occupancy Survey, Andalusia received 1.3 million overnight stays from the French market in 2021, the second most important for the region after the British market. So far in 2022, it has already exceeded one million visitors, 300% more than in the first half of 2021. In global terms, the preferred destination for the French is still Spain, with 11 million visitors in pre-pandemic figures.

In this sense, the Provincial Council is making an ambitious commitment to the French market, promoting the best excellences and resources of the tourist destination, providing a new opportunity to continue to promote the best of the province of Almeria.
