The Government Team of the Olula del Río Town Hall regrets the accusations made by the PSOE
It requests “institutional loyalty” from the socialist municipal group.

The Olula del Río Town Council Government Team “regrets the accusations made by the municipal PSOE and asks the socialist group for institutional loyalty, clarifying that from the first moment they have tried to solve the problem caused by the rains last March, visiting all the affected areas, requesting the appropriate aid and informing the Environment of the Junta de Andalucía of the problem”.

At no time, they say in a press release, have they remained unaware of the problems of the neighbours and already in August an attempt was made by the company GESTAGUA to fix the collector of “La Noria”, without this repair obtaining the expected result in its entirety, leaving the general connection without fixing, due to the fact that the water table of the river is very high, but part of the connection to this neighbourhood was fixed.

The town councils of Fines, Macael and Olula del Río applied to the Diputación de Almería for emergency aid of 700,000€ to tackle the problem of the sewer that links the three municipalities with the joint treatment plant in Fines.

On countless occasions the opposition has been asked to request information from the municipal technicians about any dossier before making unfounded accusations, something they are now accustomed to doing.

This causes social alarm due to the ignorance of the neighbours, which is what the socialist Municipal Group takes advantage of by using lies and half-truths.

This government team since 2011 has always been at the service of all the neighbours and trying to solve the problems that may arise, as in this case with the damage caused by the strong flooding of the river, concludes the communiqué.

The response of the municipal government is to the accusation launched by the municipal PSOE to the PP government team of “inaction in the face of the problem suffered by several areas of the municipality and, by extension, the whole town due to the breakage in the sewage network that the torrential rains in March caused in several sewage pipes; specifically, in the areas of La Tejera and La Noria, next to the river”.
