The Patio de Luces of the Provincial Council of Almeria has once again dressed up for an important event for the province’s agri-food sector. The brand ‘desuflí’, known as La Fritada de Suflí, has presented its new image under which from today it presents its wide variety of more than seventy products with the added value conferred by the seal of excellence of belonging to the gourmet brand of Provincial Council, Flavours of Almeria.

In an emotional event presented by the journalist David Baños, the heads of ‘desuflí’, the couple Francisco Torres and María Luisa Cano, together with their daughter, Elena Torres, accompanied by the president of the Almería Provincial Council, Javier A. García, and the deputy for Agri-Food Promotion, María Luisa Cruz, unveiled the keys to the evolution of Industrias Alimentarias de Suflí, which is now trading under the name ‘desuflí’ and, as its slogan, ‘Honest Products’.

The President of the Almería Provincial Council congratulated the family for the perseverance, affection, dedication and professionalism with which they manage their company, and highlighted “authenticity, enthusiasm and tradition” as some of the main values that consumers find in their products, also highlighting “the quality of the raw materials used to make them because they are natural and very healthy products, such as their famous fritada”.

In this sense, the president recalled some of the objectives of Flavours of Almeria and that ‘desuflí’ puts into practice as “awaken the pride of Almeria because this product ‘desuflí’ is the best canned product that exists right now in Spain. That is why it is so important that the people of Almeria consume products from our land. Desuflí’ does this with all the effort in the world, risking its heritage to try to offer a gourmet product that delights palates all over the world. Let’s not buy outside what we have inside and let’s support companies of this type that make Suflí, the Almanzora, the province, a country like Spain and Flavours of Almeria great.

The manager of ‘desuflí’ thanked the Provincial Council and ‘Sabores Almería’ for the support that has allowed them to continue to grow in recent years, and pointed out that “we defend our products, which are one hundred percent honest and natural. La fritada de Suflí canned food is a reference point for all Almerians in terms of preserves, food and the way it is prepared. Suflí has been doing this for over a hundred years and we support this production and the product, which has incredible potential”.

For her part, Dolores Cano emphasised her institutional gratitude by affirming that ” Flavours Almeria’ is allowing us to do things that we would not be able to do individually. We couldn’t go to the Salón Gourmets, which we have repeated several times, we couldn’t go to SIAL Paris, which we will be at in October…, or this presentation. For us, all this is priceless. I would like to highlight the care, affection and attention with which we are treated in this brand and the importance they are giving to the agri-food industry in the province”.

Elena Torres explained that the new brand image “is working very well although we were a little afraid of how the end client would see it because they had assimilated the old label. The new image is clear, simple and our intention was to put the ingredients first and the public has understood this very well”.

Finally, the deputy shared the memory that stayed with her when she visited the factory a couple of weeks ago: “it’s a shame that the smell can’t be written down. The moment you set foot in the factory, the smell of roasting peppers evokes the most traditional aspects of our cuisine and flavours”.
