The Provincial Council has continued with its strategy for the internationalisation of the ‘Sabores Almería’ products and has opened a new ‘corner’ in the ‘Cosentino City’ in Paris. The vice-president, Fernando Giménez, the director of global communication of the multinational, José María Pantoja, and the deputy María Luisa Cruz have inaugurated this display with products from the province that will remain installed in a preferential space in this exhibition and sales centre of the Almerian company.
Part of the delegation of Almeria businessmen who are participating in the largest food fair in the world have gathered at the launch of the ‘corner’ that will bring, 365 days a year, the taste, aroma and quality of Almeria to visitors of ‘Cosentino City’ Paris. In addition, the actor Nacho Guerreros and the Almerian actress Ana Martínez accompanied the gourmet brand of the province in this emotional event.
The ‘Sabores Almería’ display consists of a shelf and two sculptural compositions containing the gastronomic jewels of the province’s gourmet brand.
Fernando Giménez stressed that the event is much more than a joint promotion of the gourmet brand of the province and the most important multinational supermarket chain in Almeria, Andalusia and Spain. “Today we are experiencing the consolidation of a twinning between ‘Sabores Almería’ and Cosentino. The worktops of the Almeria-based multinational have accompanied us at the fairs and events that we have held from ‘Sabores Almería’. Together we have conquered Salón Gourmets and Madrid Fusión, making your worktops and the ‘Sabores Almería’ kitchen the biggest attraction at these fairs”.
Likewise, he explained that in Paris, the city where ‘Sabores Almería’ has participated for the first time in the most important food fair in the world (SIAL), “we started this journey together with Cosentino so that ‘Sabores Almería’ is present in the rest of the centres of the world”.
The vice-president recalled that this action represents the start of a new action within the internationalisation strategy of our gourmet brand. “The aim is to have our products exhibited in the cities of Europe (8), North America (8) and Asia (3). This small, big step is the first of a long road that we will take together and in which the Provincial Council will always be there to help agri-food companies… 2022 will go down in history as the year in which we took the great international leap, participating in SIAL and also with the inauguration of this action together with Cosentino. Thanks to Cosentino for being present in the actions that we carry out from the Diputación de Almería and ‘Sabores Almería’. We will continue to work together to carry the name of our land and our companies far”.
Specifically, the new display will feature throughout this week, in addition to a wide representation of preserves, oils, jams, wines and liquors from the province, with fresh produce and bread products.
For his part, José María Pantoja highlighted the values that ‘Cosentino and ‘Sabores Almería’ have in common: “They are projects that have a history linked to the ambition for growth and the commitment to the province of Almería, and a similar spirit in their origins”.
In the same way, he has indicated that today the agreement signed in Cantoria has crystallized to put at the service of ‘Sabores Almería’ the Cosentino showrooms and centres in different parts of the world.
After the event, the attendees enjoyed a small tasting in the huge kitchen on the first floor of this centre located in the centre of Paris.
The frenetic activity continues at SIAL Paris
The businesspeople are facing the final stretch of SIAL Paris with an intense schedule of visits, as Monday has been the busiest day so far in terms of the number of visitors.
Giménez has highlighted that: “This first international expedition of the brand ‘Sabores Almería’ is fundamental. It allows us to get to know this fair in depth, what the trends are and to measure ourselves against products from all over the world without any fear. Almeria offers a production that has no competition because in addition to flavour, quality and taste, it adds an added value: the health it offers in each of its products”.
In the same way, Giménez emphasised that “the companies are satisfied with the professional nature of this fair, because it allows the contacts established to be effective and long-lasting”.
Specifically, eight companies from Almeria have attended SIAL Paris with an individual exhibitor within the ‘stand’ of the Provincial Council and three have travelled to ‘Sial’ with their own exhibition space within this global event.
Almeria is represented by companies producing meat, preserves, oils, pickles, fresh vegetable and fruit and vegetable products, hams and jams.
