The Andalusian MPs of the PP of Almería Maribel Sánchez and Manuel Guzmán, together with the delegates of the Junta Guillermo Casquet and Carmen Navarro, and the president of the PP of Albox, Esteban Carrión, have held a meeting with residents of the Almanzora in the town of Albox, in which they have conveyed the decision of the Government of Juanma Moreno to suspend the water canon in 2023, a measure that is part of the sixth tax cut of the PP Government and that in the province of Almeria will mean that residents will save 12.8 million euros.
Manuel Guzmán recalled how Juanma Moreno in his investiture speech pledged to suspend the application of this tax, a measure that will be effective on 1 January 2023, which will reduce the water bill by an average of 40 euros and will mean an estimated overall saving of 140 million euros for Andalusian families and businesses.
The PP MP pointed out that «for years this tax was charged to Andalusians but the works were not carried out, which generated a collection surplus that the Junta will invest in 2023, since of the 730 million euros collected, only 179 million euros were used».

For her part, the MP Maribel Sánchez stressed that in the last three years Andalusia has made significant progress in unblocking the works planned with the proceeds of the water canon and that there are currently tenders for works worth 490 million euros in sanitation and purification infrastructures.
«During the last legislature it was the first time that hydraulic projects were unblocked in Andalusia that had been in a drawer for years and that has been thanks to the effort and commitment of the Government of Juanma Moreno,» he said.
Finally, the president of the PP, Esteban Carrión, thanked the PP parliamentarians and the delegates of the Junta for the information they have provided to the residents and asked them to continue to support a region like the Almanzora in which water infrastructures are needed to live and generate employment and wealth.
