The Local Police of Huércal-Overa have seized 490 kilos of hashish that were inside an industrial warehouse in the industrial estate of the municipality, in the course of an intervention in which police officers arrested G.S.R., 35 years of age, as the alleged perpetrator of an alleged crime of false documentation.
The events occurred as a result of a phone call reporting the presence of a suspicious vehicle on 12 October. Several agents of the Local Police went to the industrial estate where a Mercedes vehicle was intercepted, and after the investigations carried out, it was found to have licence plates installed that did not correspond to it, thus committing an alleged offence of false documentation, and the driver of the vehicle was immediately arrested.
During the same intervention, the presence of another individual was observed in the vicinity of an industrial building, a person who disappeared when he noticed the police presence. In view of this behaviour, the agents proceeded to search the area with negative results, observing that he had left the door of the industrial building open. Continuing with the investigation, they inspected the inside of the building, intercepting 19 packages inside which, after being opened, resulted in the presence and seizure of 490 kilos of hashish.
The arrest of the alleged perpetrator of the counterfeiting and seizure of the prohibited substance was possible thanks to the invaluable collaboration of the citizens and the Local Security Plan established by the Local Police Headquarters.
