Gold Medal of the Province: Carlos Herrera

Carlos Herrera Crusset is one of the most influential journalists from Almería and one of the longest continuously working in radio at national level. Born in Cuevas del Almanzora in 1957, he has been linked to the world of communication since 1977 when he debuted on Radio Mataró.

Since 2004 he has been a radio morning leader, first on Onda Cero and since 2015 with his programme ‘Herrera en Cope’. Among his long list of awards, the five Ondas Awards he has received in 1987, 1996, 2010 and 2019 stand out.

Proud of his roots in Almeria, he is a loyal ally of the province where he was born and of his municipality: Cuevas del Almanzora. In his radio programmes he has always vindicated his commitment to Almeria and to all Almerians.

Carlos Herrera has promoted our province through the microphones of those radio stations where he has worked, firmly defending the improvement of infrastructures and services for all the people of Almeria. One of the reasons why this year he has been proposed for the Gold Medal of the Province of Almeria.
