Emergency services have rescued this Tuesday a hiker injured when he fell while climbing the Sierra de la Perdiz, in the municipality of Mazarrón, according to sources from the Emergency Coordination Centre.
The incident occurred at about 10.00 hours, when the single emergency telephone number ‘1-1-2’ Region of Murcia received a call from the injured man’s companion reporting the accident and communicating that the place was difficult to access.
The helicopter of the General Directorate of Public Safety and Emergencies based in Alcantarilla, the air rescue group of the Consortium of Fire Fighting and Rescue of the Region of Murcia with two rescuers, Civil Protection of Mazarrón, a patrol of the Local Police and a Mobile Emergency Unit of the Emergency and Emergency Management ‘061’ have moved to the place.

The injured, once attended, was rescued and transferred by helicopter to the meeting point with the Mobile Emergency Unit which was located on the esplanade of the fairgrounds of Mazarrón. He was then transferred to the Santa Lucía hospital in Cartagena.
