San Javier hosts next Saturday 5th November the VI Circuit Grand Prix CX Race Pafgio, Region of Murcia, a regional championship of a new cycling modality, unpublished in San Javier, said the Councillor for Sports, Sergio Martinez, during the presentation of the sporting event to be held in the pine forest of San Blas.
This sporting event, called Ciclo Cross, consists of going round a 3 kilometre circuit with sections in which the cyclist has to put his bike over his shoulder in order to continue and meet the time limit for his category. The bike used in this modality is a road bike but with special mountain or road wheels.
The championship will take place in the two parks of San Blas on Saturday morning with the participation of all categories, from 5 years old to over 60 years old. The first start will be at 10:00 in the schools category; at 11:45 there will be a start for the masters and cadets and between 12:30 and 13:00 for the queen category.
The Championship of San Javier is the second of the calendar of six Cyclo Cross events, recalled the Councillor for Sports, Sergio Martinez who was accompanied by the president of the Club Ciclista Mar Menor, Miguel Angel Callejas. The mayor of Sports, stressed the “novelty” of this modality that came to the region five years ago and continues to gain followers since then.
Sergio Martínez invited the public to come to San Blas next Saturday morning to enjoy and get to know this type of cycling and thanked the Cycling Federation of the Region of Murcia and the Mar Menor Cycling Club for organising it.
