The Andalusian Regional Government grants 884,000 euros to rehabilitate 20 buildings in the province of Almeria.
Aránzazu Martín has delivered the aid resolutions to the beneficiary homeowners’ associations.

The Consejería de Fomento, Articulación del Territorio y Vivienda has granted subsidies for the refurbishment of 20 buildings in the province of Almería for a total amount of 884,139 euros. Through these grants, the Andalusian Regional Government is facilitating the improvement of accessibility in 20 buildings, enabling the installation of lifts. It also favours the execution of conservation improvement works, such as the repair of roofs and façades and the installation of thermal insulation systems.

The delegate of the Government of Andalusia, Aránzazu Martín, and the territorial delegate for Development, Territorial Development and Housing, Carmen Belén López, this morning handed over the resolutions of the subsidies which are part of the Plan Vive en Andalucía and which have been awarded to 15 communities of property owners in the capital of Almeria, 2 in Albox, 2 in Purchena (2) and 1 in Huércal-Overa.

During the meeting with the representatives of the beneficiary communities of owners, held at the headquarters of the Government Delegation, they have been informed about the details of this resolution, from the procedure for granting the subsidy and the deadlines for implementation, start of work and license application to the forms of payment of aid and how to justify the costs.

The actions are aimed at rectifying basic deficiencies in the conservation of buildings and improving accessibility. The total cost of the eligible works amounts to 1,557,752 euros, including the cost of the works themselves, as well as technical fees and management expenses.

The subsidy covers 40 percent of the eligible budget of the actions, which is increased to 75 percent in the case of cohabitation units with incomes of less than 3 times the Public Multiple Effect Income Indicator (IPREM), residents with disabilities or those over 65 years of age in accessibility works.

Homeowners’ associations have a period of one month to apply for the municipal licence and six months to begin the work, which must be completed before 4 November 2023, unless unforeseen or unforeseen circumstances arise.

The subsidy is paid in two phases. The first payment, of 50 percent of the subsidy, will be made upon presentation of the building permit or municipal authorisation and the certificate of reconsideration or certificate of commencement of the work, and the second payment, upon presentation of the final works certificate, which must be accompanied by a final settlement and justification of the payment of the first 50 percent.

60 lifts

Aránzazu Martín pointed out that through this aid, added to that granted under the previous call for applications, 60 lifts have been installed in the province with a total subsidy amount of close to 2 million euros. “This has made it possible to change the appearance of an ageing housing stock, which was designed without taking into account the accessibility problems that its residents would have in the future, and has led to an increase in the value of the residents’ properties”.

Ecovivienda Plan

The territorial delegate, Carmen Belén López, recalled that the Regional Ministry of Development, Territorial Planning and Housing currently has the so-called EcoVivienda Plan, which is currently in the application period, which calls for grants, on a non-competitive basis, for rehabilitation at building level, for the improvement of energy efficiency in housing, for the development of the existing book and for the drafting of rehabilitation projects in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia.

This plan, initially endowed with just over 133.5 million euros, will allow more than 25,000 Andalusian families to benefit. The backbone of the plan is to improve the energy efficiency of dwellings, but it will also enable actions to improve accessibility and the conservation of buildings, once a reduction in non-renewable primary energy consumption of at least 30 percent is achieved.
