The Tour of Almeria 2023 will start from Huércal-Overa
The race will be held from 17 to 19 February and will start from the municipality of Huercal, which already hosted the finish in the 2022 edition.

The mayor of Huércal-Overa, Domingo Fernández, and the CEO of Total Sport Mediterranean, Sergio Domínguez, have presented at the Huércal-Overa Town Hall the start of the first stage of what will be the seventh edition of the Vuelta Ciclista a Almería, which will take place on February 17th, organised by the Club Deportivo A Toda Marcha, with Total Sport Mediterranean as promoter.

Huércal-Overa, in its first participation in the Vuelta Ciclista a Almería, hosted the arrival of the last stage in 2022, so being the starting point of the 2023 edition means giving continuity to what is undoubtedly the most important cycling stage race in the Masters category in Andalusia. Proof of this importance is that the 200 places available to take part in the event have been practically filled.

In the municipality of Huercal, the first stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a Almería 2023 will pass through many of its districts, with two of the main points being located in Santa María de Nieva, with a mountain pass, and in El Saltador, with a special sprint. This first stage will pass through different municipalities of the Levante Almeriense, such as Pulpí and Vera, before finishing in Mojácar playa, after 84 kilometres.

The Mayor, Domingo Fernández, was pleased that Huércal-Overa will once again host a stage of the Vuelta Ciclista a Almería: “Once again we have the opportunity to enjoy cycling in our municipality with a stage that will pass through both the town centre and the districts”. From the Town Hall “we continue to support this sporting event that brings together numerous riders from all corners of Spain”.

“The collaboration between the Huércal-Overa Town Hall and Total Sport Mediterranean is maximum”, said the CEO of the promoter, Sergio Domínguez, who recalled that Huércal-Overa has also hosted this year’s Spanish Masters Cycling Championship, which attracted more than 800 participants from all over Spain to the town.

Similarly, Huércal-Overa will host on 22 January 2023 a new edition of its traditional Carrera Ciclista del Cochinillo, which will be managed for the first time by Total Sport Mediterranean, and on 23 February, the first edition of the Levante Almeriense sports awards organised by the promoter will also take place in the municipality of Huércal-Overa.

The Vuelta Ciclista a Almería will be held on 17, 18 and 19 February 2023 and is organised by the Club Deportivo A Toda Marcha together with Total Sport Mediterranean and with the collaboration of the town councils of Huércal-Overa, Mojácar and Adra. Electrohidráulica SP is the main sponsor of the event, while Bicis y Motos Craviotto sponsors the Gran Premio de la Montaña and Estación de Servicio Los Gurullos Cepsa-Carrefour sponsors the regularity.
