The new leadership of the PSOE of Albox has shown its conviction that sustainability and the environment must be incorporated into the day to day life of the citizens and, for this reason, has planned the creation of an Office of Sustainability and Environment for the next municipal corporation which they hope to preside. «Only by taking care of our environment can we ensure that our town has a future», they maintain and defend, for example, that this office will advise on the installation of solar panels on terraces and roofs and the need to promote renewable energies in domestic use in a «context in which the price of energy has to be taken into consideration», they have pointed out.
According to the socialists, this office will be «the centralised point where everything related to sustainability and environmental issues is managed and where any person or company can go to resolve doubts, request information on available aid or ask for advice on waste management. In addition, the PSOE is committed to reducing part of the IBI (property tax) and to subsidising building permits.
From this office promoted by the PSOE of Albox, awareness-raising workshops on environmental care will also be held in schools and institutes and a calendar of activities will be created in the town, such as a second-hand market, recycling competitions and family days for cleaning up public spaces. The ambitious initiative of the socialists of Alboja will provide residents with a free telephone hotline and a mobile application to report any incidents and to make proposals.

«We consider it a priority to plant trees in our municipality and to look for the most appropriate species for our climate, as well as creating green areas that act as a green lung», they have defended and, in this sense, they have shown their commitment to plant 3,000 trees in 4 years. «These green lungs of our municipality that we want to create will be adapted so that citizens can enjoy their leisure time in them, for which we will set up picnic areas and parks». «We will also involve citizens in family activities on these issues so that they can contribute to the design of the town in which they live,» they added.
