The territorial delegate of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Antonio Mena, has visited the Association «Ver de Olula», which will improve the facilities of its centre, located in the municipality of Olula del Río, through the acquisition of equipment for the care of children with limitations in different areas of development, especially in aspects related to motor, cognitive, sensory and communication, thanks to a grant from the Directorate General of Industries, Innovation and Agri-Food Chain last July.
By Resolution of this Directorate General of the Junta de Andalucía, «Ver de Olula» is the beneficiary of grants for the creation, modernisation and improvement of services, infrastructure and equipment to improve the quality of life of citizens, environmental conditions, the fight against climate change and the enhancement of Rural Heritage (Natural and Cultural) of the Almanzora. This is a line planned by the Rural Development Group of Levante Almeriense and Almanzora in the LEADER Local Development Strategy.
The aid granted is 130,000 euros, which represents 90% of the amount of the approved project, which amounts to 150,138.

With this action, the association «Ver de Olula» improves three fundamental aspects in the intervention on each child. On the one hand, it increases the therapy modalities by creating new spaces that improve the quality of the rehabilitation service, incorporating a therapeutic swimming pool and a gymnasium with a ceiling crane.
It also raises the sanitary and medical conditions by providing spaces for individual therapies for children in early care with respiratory diseases and new offices for medical professionals.
Finally, it allows for Family Respite and Rest for dependent children. The idea is that families with children in their care, whose care must be permanent, can leave their children in the care of the organisation for specific periods of time when they need it. Rest and leisure areas will be created, with special emphasis on the accessibility of the building, for which a chair lift has been installed.
Ver de Olula is an association founded in 1989 with the main objective of social, labour and educational integration of people with disabilities. The Association has 410 members, of which approximately 40 % have a recognised mental dysfunction or mental illness. In 2001, an Integral Rehabilitation Service was set up, through which various pathologies are attended to, mainly aimed at young children.
