The Guardia Civil de la Comandancia de Almería in collaboration with the Cuerpo de Agentes de Medio Ambiente de la Junta de Andalucía are carrying out a campaign to control the use of firearms and the consumption of alcohol during hunting.
According to Royal Decree 137/1993, of 29 January 1993, approving the Regulations on Arms, the use and carrying of firearms under the influence of alcohol is an offence under Article 147 (it is prohibited to carry, display or use weapons under the influence of alcoholic beverages, narcotics, psychotropic drugs or other similar substances).
This type of behaviour poses a risk to the hunters themselves and to third parties.

In Andalusia, according to Law 8/2003 on wild flora and fauna and Decree 126/2017 approving the Hunting Regulations in Andalusia, it is established as a serious offence to hunt under the influence of alcohol, narcotic or psychotropic substances. For these purposes, it is considered to be under the effects of alcohol to present a blood alcohol level of more than 0.25 mg/l of exhaled air, equal to that established in the road safety regulations for driving a car. In this case it would be a very serious offence punishable by fines of 601 to 4000 euros and cancellation of the hunting licence and disqualification from obtaining it for a period of between three and five years.
