The Mayor, José Miguel Luengo, the Councillor for Public Services, María Dolores Ruiz and the Councillor and Mayoress of El Mirador, Isabel Madrid, today visited the accessibility improvement works being carried out by the Town Hall on Avenida Principal, in El Mirador, «which are progressing at a good pace and are expected to be completed during the month of January». The works, which also affect part of Calle Siete Higueras (corner of Avenida Principal to Centro Médico) and Calle Rosario Bernabeu, have involved a municipal investment of 160,000 euros and consist of the renovation of urban services with a total of 1,500 square metres of asphalt and 1,000 square metres of new, wider pavements. They have also included the improvement of rainwater drainage along the main avenue and the renovation of lighting.
«This work is designed to make life more comfortable for residents, improving accessibility,» said the mayor, José Miguel Luengo, who recalled that it is a work that «responds to a demand in El Mirador». Luengo pointed out that this work is in addition to others that have been carried out and are being carried out in the town, such as the adaptation of the access road to El Mirador from the Dos Mares crossroads to the cemetery, or the roofing of a sports track, which is being finalised these days, to facilitate sports practice and outdoor activities, in the shade or rain, in the town’s school. «All these works come in response to the people who want their council to continue investing in these types of improvements», added the mayor who assured that «we will continue working to improve the infrastructure in El Mirador».
