In November, registered unemployment fell in Almería by -2,491 persons with respect to October. This figure represents a decrease of -4.35%, bringing the total number of unemployed in the province to 54,776 people.
In interannual terms, unemployment also fell significantly to -2,792 unemployed, -4.85% compared to November 2021.
Distribution by sex, age and nationality

By sex, male unemployment stood at 22,444 unemployed men in November, while the total number of unemployed women was 32,332.
By age, the figure for youth unemployment, i.e. for those under 25, is 4,476 unemployed. Among those over 25, the number of unemployed is 50,300.
Of the total number of unemployed, 11,287 are foreign nationals.
Unemployment by economic sector

The decrease in unemployment compared to last month occurred in all sectors: services (-2,112), agriculture (-413), construction (-12), and industry (-32).
Unemployment only increased in the group without previous employment, by 78 unemployed.
The unemployment structure by sector in the province of Almeria is as follows: services sector 35,869 unemployed, agriculture 6,292, unemployed without previous employment 5,676, construction 4,882 and industry 2,057.
Hiring
In November, the total number of contracts signed in the province was 29,991, which represents -3,367 fewer contracts than in the previous month, -10.09% less. In year-on-year terms, hiring fell by -5,847 contracts, a decrease of -16.32%.
According to the sector of economic activity, 17,906 contracts were signed in October in the services sector, 9,777 in agriculture, 1,328 in construction and 980 in industry.
Of the total number of contracts signed this month, 13,075 were for foreign nationals.
Permanent contracts signed this month continue to outnumber temporary contracts, a constant that has been repeated since April: temporary contracts were 12,316 while permanent contracts were 17,675.
In terms of accumulated contracting data, so far this year, 301,996 contracts have been signed in Almeria, of which 50.10% have been permanent contracts. This rate of permanent contracts is above the rate registered in the same period in Andalusia (34.54%) and at national level (38.33%).
Unemployment benefits in October
According to the latest data published by the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy for the month of October, the expenditure on unemployment benefits in that month was 37.52 million euros.
The number of unemployment benefit recipients was 33,807.
Foreign beneficiaries amounted to 8,737, which represents 4.92% of the national total. Of the foreign unemployment benefit recipients, 2,526 are from EU countries and 6,211 are from non-EU countries.
Social Security enrolment
During the month of November, the average affiliation to Social Security in Almeria was 321,733 workers. This figure represents an increase of 10,489 affiliates with respect to October, 3.3% more.
In year-on-year terms, average enrolment increased by 7,565 persons, 2.4% more than in November 2021.
The figure of 321,733 average workers in one month is the highest number of members ever reached in the province of Almería since data has been available. The previous record was recorded in December 2021 with 316,135 average affiliates.
There are currently 258,977 workers affiliated to the General Social Security Scheme in Almeria, 61,843 to the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers (RETA) and 913 to the Special Scheme for Sea Workers.
Of the total number of workers affiliated to the General Social Security Scheme, 58,685 workers are affiliated to the Special Agricultural System and 2,428 to the Special System for Household Employees.
According to the latest available data, corresponding to the end of October, foreign affiliates to the Social Security in Almeria amounted to 73,800, with Morocco being the nationality with the highest number of affiliates (29,842), followed by Romania (11,659), Senegal (4,457), Mali (3,931) and Ecuador (2,129). Of the 73,800 foreign affiliates, 56,912 belong to non-EU countries and 16,888 to EU countries.
The number of foreign affiliates at the end of October in the General Scheme is 25,612, in the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers 7,112, in the Special Scheme for Sea Workers 141, in the Special Agrarian System 40,073, and in the Special Scheme for Household Employees 862.
