On the third day of the 9th ‘Sabores Almería’ Agri-Food Products Fair, the Plaza Vieja in the capital has become a pilgrimage point for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the excellence of the province’s gourmet brand products. More than thirty companies from all over Almeria will be exhibiting their products here until the 8th of December. The fair is open throughout the long weekend from 11am to 9.30pm.
The public has already enjoyed the offer of the companies and the parallel activities that have been organised to liven up the Plaza Vieja and the centre of Almería during the long weekend in December. On Saturday night, the Plaza was filled to capacity to enjoy the Santo y seña concert and the showcooking of the Asociación Almería Gastronómica. This Sunday the activities were led by Chocolates La Virgitana and its workshop for children, and live music by Brasi.
María Luisa Cruz, Deputy for Agri-Food Promotion, stated that “the expectations for this year’s edition of the fair are magnificent. After the first few days we have had a high number of visitors who have been captivated by the excellence and creativity of the products of the ‘Sabores Almería’ companies and the activities programmed”.

In this line, the deputy recalled that the nine editions of the fair that have been held so far “are fulfilling one of our most important objectives with our gourmet brand: that companies increase their sales, that they enjoy a promotional window like this, and that the people of Almeria feel increasingly identified and proud of Almeria products”.
Innovation and quality
Bodega Lauricius from Abrucena is showing the four types of wine they produce; Jonimiel is promoting its star product, honey rum; Productos Pichote, in addition to its usual products, is promoting this year its mantecados and chocolate dipped doughnuts; Carpaccio de Gamba Roja de Carboneras, apart from its star product, presents its anchovies, marinated sardines or homemade gildas; Vita Snack shares its wide range of crunchy dehydrated fruits and vegetables and Miel Sierra Filabres proposes a new product, the desert pack with three containers so that those who are undecided can try different varieties.
