The 9th ‘Sabores Almería’ Agri-food Products Fair is entering its final stretch, highlighting the tradition, excellence and health of Almeria’s cuisine through its creators and local products. On the penultimate day of this event, which opens its doors until tomorrow, Thursday 8 December, from 11 am to 9.30 pm, the recipes of the province have been the main protagonists in the Plaza Vieja de Almería.
This afternoon the public enjoyed an exhibition of bread making by the Obrador Las Pitas, with José Carlos Salinas, who revealed some of the secrets to making the best companion for meals. Then it was the turn of the chefs Isabel Molina, from Restaurante Juan Moreno; Pablo Fuente, from Restaurante Bacus and Jessica Núñez, from Restaurante La Casualidad, who prepared different dishes with an Almerian stamp, with local products from ‘Sabores Almería’, perfectly combining tradition, craftsmanship and avant-garde. The chefs Tolo Castillo, from Casa Rafael and Borja González, from Alquímico, also gave an exhibition.
The afternoon ended with a musical performance by the Gata Brass Band. In addition, in the morning, a group of FAAM users, from the Almeria Federation of People with Disabilities, visited the fair to get to know and taste the products of the companies of the brand. They were accompanied by the Deputy for Agri-Food Promotion, María Luisa Cruz, who highlighted “the great work of FAAM for the inclusion of all Almerians. We want all the groups in the province to feel involved in our fair and identified with Almeria’s products”.
In this sense, the deputy highlighted “the high public attendance we have had on each day. We still have the last day, which as it is a public holiday, we hope it works just as well, but the sensations are unbeatable. This fair has established itself as a key activity as a prelude to Christmas in Almeria, the brands of ‘Sabores Almeria’ find a powerful window to promote and sell their products and the public increasingly recognises and demands the excellence of Almeria’s products”.
The companies of ‘Sabores Almería’ show in this fair the authenticity and passion they put into each of their products. Licores Naturales show their liqueurs with natural products with the novelty of their dry and sweet aniseed, and their traditional ham liqueur; Panadería el Túnel presents their wide range of doughnuts, from the traditional, chocolate dipped, with seeds, crushed…, or their gourmet section; Industrias Cárnicas Diego Molina share their home-made products such as chorizos, salchichón, longaniza, blanquillo… The Origen beers have the novelty of their Mal de ojo vermouth; Peña Cruz offers its chorizos, black pudding, sobrasada with honey, morcón, butifarra…; Seronés Artesano has its wide range of semi-cured varieties or its pícaro, a cream cheese with a spicy touch…; Bodega Palomillo brings to the fair its ecological wines such as the young Está por venir, its barrel or an oak wine, as well as its white wine.
