Cantoria 2017 earned a well-deserved point on their visit this Saturday afternoon to the Municipal Veracruz stadium in Villacarrillo, a match corresponding to matchday 13 of the Andalusian Division of Honour, Group 2.
The two teams were level on almost everything (14 points, 4 games won, 2 drawn and 6 lost) and the game was a game of chances for both sides, which at no point did they deviate from the plan they had drawn up during the week.
At the start of the first half the home side had two chances in front of the goal defended by Alberto, but as the minutes ticked by, the Almanzora side settled into the game.

In the eighth minute Capel could have scored the first for the visitors, but he hesitated in his first control and the ball went wide. Then Jair, the home keeper, saved a close range shot from Cerri.
In the 14th minute Villacarrillo responded and it was Alberto who was in charge of clearing the ball. The most dangerous move for the home side in the first half was a header from Adri Humanes which hit the crossbar. Again, on the half hour mark, Alberto cleared a free kick from Poblaciones that went into the top right hand corner. 0-0 and it was half time.
In the second half, Cantoria came out more into the game. Only 2 minutes after the restart and a solo run by Cerri laid the foundations for the first goal. The Cantoria striker ran onto a ball in front of the defence, got to the byline, passed to Capel and the ball was fed to Migui who shot home. Jair gave a corner kick that Migui himself headed into the back of the net. It was 1-0 and the Aurinegro were in control, playing well and intimidating the opposition goal.
Villacarrillo were aware of what was at stake, Toni García moved the bench, introduced three changes and his team took a step forward.
On the visitors’ side, Guille Cruz, who was looking more and more like Ricardo Mora, was the threat from three quarters of the pitch.
Armenian Taron was rewarded with a cross-shot that beat Alberto after an exquisite pass filtered through by Pedro.
The home keeper saved another clear chance for the Aurinegros in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute, Raúl’s shot went just wide with the home keeper keeping his eye on it.
Moncada could have equalised for the home side in stoppage time but his header went over the crossbar.
A fair share of the points and the importance of continuing to add to the points for the Cantorians for the second consecutive matchday.
