The Huércal-Overa Town Council has increased by 10% the amount allocated to the Work Experience Programme with the aim of «helping more young people from Huércal-Overa to find work opportunities», explained the councillor responsible for Economic Management and Employment Promotion, Mónica Navarro.
The councillor assured that «the Town Hall has increased the budget for next year for the Municipal Work Experience Programme, an initiative that was a pioneer in our province, offering young people the opportunity to take their first step towards work experience and to start acquiring practical knowledge after having completed their university studies, higher or intermediate level studies and PICE courses, as well as those who have participated in Workshop Schools, opening doors so that they can start to grow in the world of work».
«Given the good reception of previous editions, the government team has assessed and approved the expansion of this budget item, reaching €55,000 with which we give the possibility to a greater number of young people to start their journey in the world of work through this programme.

To date there are 238 beneficiaries of this programme throughout its various calls since 2013, with an investment of close to €300,000. In addition, it has a job placement rate of around 50%.
The Consistory is grateful for the participation of the different companies not only from the municipality but also from different parts of the country who have placed their trust in this initiative and who have made the internship period a reality for the young people.
